The Future of Tuncurry-Forster Jockey Club

Our Future

Continuing to Deliver a great country racing venue

The First Race Meeting

In 2009 the first race meeting was held at the Tuncurry track attracting six and a half thousand patron’s, and to this day still boasting crowds of nothing less than eighteen hundred for most race meetings.

The Tuncurry-Forster Jockey Club has now secured four TAB meetings per year. Racing over the summer months is good for the Club as the twin towns of Forster and Tuncurry attract 600,000 visitors. Last September the clubs Gold Cup meeting turned over $1.4 million in TAB betting.

Our Future Plans for the Club

To finish this project the club needs another twenty horse tie ups, the road tar sealed, a new callers tower with amenities, kitchen, board room, day office and members bar as well as tiered seating in front of the Pavilion to the parade ring fence.

This would complete the infrastructure needed to cater for patron’s comfort and help the club hold many successful race meetings which will benefit the club, the community and racing. All this has been achieved by volunteers and one paid employee!
